Kangaroo loves dancing. He wishes to be different from other animals and popular. Big God Nqong agrees to help and does so by having Yellow Dingo Dog chase him. Kangaroo runs and Dingo chases him all around Australia. Kangaroo’s hind legs and tail grow strong and he switches from running to hopping. This tale, based on one of Rudyard Kipling’s Just So Stories, depicts the permanent change of animals.
